Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do you help people with?

We support people with psychosocial disability to build stability, independence and confidence in everyday life.

This can include things like improving mental health routines, connecting with the right supports, navigating the NDIS and building skills to manage difficult periods.

Our role is to help you create structure, clarity and support around the life you want to build.

We do not replace your psychologist or other therapists, we work alongside them.

What’s the difference between a Psychosocial Recovery Coach and a Support Coordinator?

Both roles help you navigate the NDIS and access supports, but they focus on different things.

Support Coordination helps you:

~ understand your NDIS plan

~ connect with services

~ organise supports

~ solve problems with providers

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching includes all Support Coordination tasks while specialising in:

~ mental health recovery

~ building routines and stability

~ strengthening your support network

~ preparing for difficult periods

~ building confidence and independence

Do I need NDIS funding to work with you?

Most people work with us by using their NDIS funding.

However, some people choose to work with us privately if they:

~ are applying for the NDIS

~ are waiting for a plan

~ want extra support outside their funding

~ don’t qualify for NDIS and choose to privately fund

How do I know if this support is right for me?

This support can be helpful if you feel like:

~ your mental health has been unpredictable

~ you struggle to stay on top of life when things get hard

~ you feel overwhelmed trying to manage supports alone

~ you want more structure, guidance and support around your recovery.

Our intake form helps us understand whether we are a good fit.

What does working together actually look like?

This varies for each person, but typically we help with things like:

~ building routines that support your mental health

~ creating plans for when things become difficult

~ connecting you with the right therapists and services

~ advocating for your needs

~ helping you understand and use your NDIS plan

~ building confidence to manage life more independently.

~ building a support team that truly meets your needs

Some people meet weekly at first, then less often as things stabilise.

Can you help if my mental health goes up and down a lot?

Yes. Many of the people we support experience periods where things are manageable and periods where things feel much harder.

Part of our work is helping you build structure and support around those changes, so you’re not facing them alone.

What if I’ve had bad experiences with services before?

That’s very common. Many people come to us after feeling misunderstood, unsupported or overwhelmed by the system.

Our approach is trauma-informed, collaborative and paced around you. We take time to understand your situation and build trust.

What if I don’t know what I need yet?

That’s completely okay. Many people come to us feeling unsure where to start.

Part of our role is helping you figure out what would actually help and how to move forward step by step.

How often would we meet?

This depends on your needs and funding. Some people benefit from regular support early on, while others only need occasional check-ins. We will work with you to find a rhythm that supports your goals.

My support team needs trauma-informed training, do you provide this?

Absolutely, we have trained many teams and individuals through our Trauma-Informed method.

Once we get to know your needs and funding availabilities, we can put together a training workshop just for you and potentially provide regular check-ins to ensure your team stays on track.
